STONEHILL | visioning case study

VISION: Stonehill is a Residential Planned Community to be located on a site with a large amount of stone outcrops and boulders. The significant stone outcrops are being preserved, and the remaining stones and boulders will be used in walls and landscaping. The architectural and landscape architecural theme will be Craftsman, the historical architecture of Riverside County. Craftsman-style homes utilize stones in the buildings and the landscape walls and monuments - and use them in an informal way, suitible for this rugged site. We are in the preliminary stages of work, having just established the Vision for this project.

Two prominent hill landforms were preserved as a park and altered slightly to create a bowl amphitheater between them.

The many stones and boulders on the site will be used in landscaping and help set the Craftsman theme of architecture for this project.
